Carnival 2008 is ready
The new King and Queen for Cozumel Carnival 2008 have been chosen last Saturday evening. Jalil Martín Gaeta and Andrea Chacón Núñez have been voted as the winners for this year's celebration, during the dance and music extravaganza attended by over 6,500 excited spectators.The contestants were brightly dressed in mardi-grass costumes and each danced surrounded by their own entourage, in the fierce battle to be crowned King and Queen of Carnival 2008.
Jalil convinced the voting attendants that he was worthy to be King by showing an amazing display of salsa, merengue, samba and cumbia routines that were complemented by changing his costume 3 times. Andrea put on a fantastic performance based on an "Oriental Fantasy" theme that included Chinese Dragons. Dancing mambo, salsa, merengue, samba, and cumbia pop, both contenders grabbed the audience's attention and won the necessary votes to become Kint and Queen of Carnival 2008.
